Hello. My name is Matthew, I am not native english speaker, so forgive me my bad language.

OK. Few days ago I bought a new graphic card ASUS 290x. While I was playing battlefield 3 mp, my screen turn to red and in a little time has computer restarted. I was shocked.. then i logged to my computer and launched the game again. Everything seems to be ok. But after maybe 10 minutes of playing, the "red screen issue" happend again. I was really upset, I logged on again and started capturing a video of my screen.. Nothing happend in two hours of gaming.

My previous card was 7970Ghz editon. I had no red screen problem with this card.

Can you help me with my problem? I will be very glad for that.

Here is my complete pc configuration:

AMD FX-8350 Black edition, 4 GHz
Gigabyte 970A-UD3
Kingston HyperX Blu, 1600Mhz, 2x4GB, DDR3 ram, XMP
Kingston SSDNow V300, 120GB
Seagate Barracuda 7200.12, 1TB
Seagate Barracuda 7200.12, 3TB
ASUS DRW-24B5ST, DVDRW
I-BOX Card reader 85v1 USB
CoolerMaster HAF 912 Plus
OCZ ModXStream Pro, 700W, 80+, 135mm
Microsoft Windows 8, 64-bit, OEM, SK
Noctua NH-U9B SE2, chladič pre procesor
ASUS AMD Radeon R9290X-G-4GD5, 4GB

Thanks a lot and once again, sorry for bad english.

Sorry Matthew I think the 290x might be defective. You may have to send it out under warranty.

Sorry for the stupid question. But can´t be this red screen issue caused by PSU? My psu has 700 watts (80+) and for this card is recommended minimum 750 watts psu...?

Just by the way, few minutes ago, after playing bf3 for 15 minutes it "crashed" again :(

I doubt it. that card shouldn't be pulling more than 350 watts from the wall at the most. The recommended PSU wattage is vague and overestimated.
If the 7970 you had worked fine in this rig and the only difference is the graphics card, chances are the cause of the issue is the graphics card itself.
