Should I record gameplay videos on the same drive my games and game recorder are installed on?

I'm not into LP's, just recording game footage, and I want the best performance when recording so I don't get FPS loss.

I have 2 hard drives. My main drive with my OS is 500 GB, the second one is 1 TB, and I only use the 1 TB drive to install games and my game recorder on and also record gameplay to. Would installing all my games and game recorder on my drive with the OS, and recording my gameplays on the empty 1 TB drive improve my FPS? I only read about recording gameplay videos to a drive that doesn't have the OS on it, never if I should also install all my games and game recorder on there too.

Thank you!

Of course it matters. Do not listen to people who do not understand it. Always use two different drives. One that you play from and another to record to. It is logical and me as an expert will clearly tell you so. Do it yourself. Test the difference, you will see the huge performance difference. I record all the time. If you have any further questions, feel free to ask. Enjoy!

The answer to your question depends on reading/ writing speed of your HDD. To play game your HDD reads, but when you record gameplay it writes. Obviously reading system OS and game files from one drive and writing recorded gameplay to another will improve FPS. However, you will only get best performance (possible for your machine) if you use a hardware recorder (with encoding capabilities) and not software.
