Why am I getting huge fps drops in Crysis 3 at any graphical setting?

Specs:
GTX 760 2GB
6GB RAM
Phenom II X6 1035T @2.81Ghz
1200w Power Supply
PCIe 2.0 motherboard
HD LGTV 720p

I'm able to run everything maxed out with this resolution. If I play maxed out or low settings the frame drop result is the same. Of course on low settings average frame drops go up a bit but doesnt make a difference when it drops.

Solution
It doesn't surprise me. It's very cpu intensive so that is probably your problem, it's just bottleneck at its finest. Also, I would advise on 8 gb of ram, that should also help with your problem with little cost.

Are you sure this applies with any settings? Why would it give me this issue on low with such GPU?

Yes, it's possible it could happen in any setting. I would try less intensive games like COD black ops 2, if you have it or anything not as demanding to make sure it's not just crysis since it can be an array of different issues. I know crysis and skyrim are notorious for bottlenecks and I had issues with my old 1055t but only in very high/ultra setting.

The mobo is in fact pcie 2.0. Does this really make a difference?

PCIE 2.0 has no effect..... there are currently no gains for 3.0 over 2.0..... The motherboard support the 760 meaning its firmware is probably dated after crysis 3 release meaning it wouldn't cause any effect on performance or that would be across all games played.

The GPU is great but even a 780 struggles to hold this game above 30 FPS at maximum. I'd tone back your setting and turn off things like AA and AO and turn down other filters these eat GPU's up.

Hello again guys, I fixed the issue. So first of all I cleaned some dust on the cooler, that helped me avoid frame drops in games like max payne 3. Anyways, the solution for Crysis 3 was to get into the bios, and disable settings that made my processor work slower. Like CPU Throttling and some other. Now Crysis maxed out including antialising runs very nicely at 40fps+ with 720p. Thanks for your help.
