if your only going to use those 2 then your vram usage should be under 2gb but if you want to heavily mod games using things like the iron man mod and real traffic real vehicles water effects etc etc with the graphic mods i would go with something above 2gb of vram

a 770 will be fine for what you want to do also and go with a i5 4670k with a decent mobo and 8gb 1600 ram

is there a reason you went with the x79? do you do video rendering/editing or programming or intense photo editing, or do you plan on using 3 cards?
if not go with a 4670k and 8gb of ram and get a bigger ssd/better psu/gtx 780

well, my friend said the x79 (lga2011) gives more speed for gaming, this is just for gaming, not else, just 1 cards.

anyway , i think 780 will be overkill, through ..

No it isn't the best, socket 1150/haswell is.If you really want a hyper threading cpu will the 4770K cost as much, but a good motherboard will cost less and you can use that money to get a bigger ssd or a better psu, which isn't that bad, just not that good as well.

The gtx 770 should do well, but why a 4gb version which isn't really necessary as well?
For a 1080p screen should a 2gb version be enough.Or get an amd r9 280X if you can find a nice one in stock.

the x79 only benefits when you want to run 3 or 4 cards or video rendering/editing or programming or intense photo editing and it is running on older tech haswell is better optimized for gaming

go with a haswell system and a 770 and like vic 40 said you only need 2gb at 1080p unless you are using a high amount of tesselation or texture mods on games. skyrim/gta4 heavily modded can run above 2gb on 1080p. but if your not modding then 2gb is fine.

if you want you can list your budget and parts you already have (hdd, disk drive,os, ram, etc) or any prefered items you would like and we can project a build for you
