You won't need to buy an anti-virus but do as the above article says and boot into safe mode with command prompt and restore your system, then download malwarebytes anti malware, and maybe give avast a quick download and use the boot scanner. Both are free

I had the same problem on a machine I was working on. I took the hard drive out and connected to another machine I have. Since it had a boot drive in already it detected the infected drive as a stand alone drive. I went into the disk management to confirm. I simply gave the infected drive a double barrel of Vipre anti virus . The bottom line Vipre 1, bad guys 0!
