My computer would BSOD after starting a game, now the screen goes blank (as if there is no video going to it). This is a brand new build, all new components.

Asus m5a78l-m/usb3
Asus GTX 760
Kingston 2x4g
Corsair 500w 80+
Western digital 1TB
AMD fx 6300
Windows 8.1 64bit

I have updated the mobo and the GPU drivers and the black screen still happens.

Edit: i can use the onboard video with no problem on the mobo. ( not good enough to run games)

Solution
I advise you to go to local electronic store and ask if you can just borrow parts and troubleshoot it in store or if not, you can always buy a cheap PSU or something just to test it out.

I haven't checked the temperature, but the computer isn't even on for more than 2 minutes before it black screens. The GPU is only slightly warm when this happens, and the PSU isn't even warm to he touch. The PSU is a CX500M.

When it black screens the computer is still running- I have to turn it off- take out the gpu and turn it back on

Ok, i did this and started the game- got 3 minutes in and the monitor went black, computer kept running same as before.

Make sure you GPU is seated securely, try reseating the RAM.
It is hard to check this, but make sure nothing is shorting, all motherboard standoff are nice and secure, no weird position for any components (storage devices in their bay and GPU is exactly in its slot, CPU cooler is secure, and no cables touching the motherboard besides the connector portion.

I re-routed a fan wire that was touching the side of the CPU fan(plastic fan housing), that was the only wire touching the MOBO, i reinstalled the RAM. Everything is where is should be and secure. I started the system and it ran the game very well for about 5 minutes, then crashed again. This is the best it has ran since i got it saturday.

Glad to see improvement lol....

Honestly, the only thing I can think of right is now is to start swapping in working parts and see which one is the defective one.
I would start with PSU, see if you can get one somewhere and just swap it in and see how long that last.
