What is holding me back?

I have 2 GTX 780ti GPUs in SLI mode. My processor is the Ivy Bridge 4960x and I have 36GB of 1333 DDR3 ram, soon to be 48GB. I use a 42" Sony Bravia TV as my screen. ... I would assume this setup would have been enough to overpower any game, but I play DayZ and the mods of it and I average only 40FPS in performance mode and with non-essential quality cut back.

Should I buy a 3rd GPU and have it handle the 3D stuff or do I need a new TV? Or what?

PS: I have tried running my CPU as the 3D handling device, tried turning off SLI, etc and nothing will keep me above 40-45fps. Also I had to resize my screen to fit both when in 720p and 1080p, if that as anything to do with it.

Is it only with that game? it could be because that game is still in its alpha/beta stage and is on early release and isnt optimized for SLI try disabling one?.. but right now that's a killer set up lol.. kinda over kill on the ram :d and no, 3 way SLI on a gtx 780ti is ridiculous, never gonna need that much power!

It's pretty much the only game I play haha, and it comes with a FPS indicator on certain mods. I know people with less in their computer, and they run higher FPS at higher settings. That's what gets me. Thanks for the confirmation though. I'll try some more things.

No problem, yeah i think its because the game is still in its early stages.. 'cause it's only that game you're having troubles with..
I mean i run a 7870 Xfire and a FX 6300 and i haven't found a game i can't max out.. so i think it isn't optimized for SLI or Xfire..
On another note, hows the game play? Is it worth buying?

They just recently put out a patch for new maps and buildings and so on. They are making progress. Once they get vehicles/bases in to it as promised, it should be more populated and as fun as the add-on versions were. If you're bored it's worth looking in to now, it will be awesome soon though :)
