how much ram will end up with? please someone

ok my next question is if I have a

M4A87TD EVO motherboard with
4 core amd processor
running windows 7 64bit

I have 2x KVR1333D3E9S/4G DDR3 1333MHz already in my computer giving me 4gb of ram in total .
if I put another 8Gb (2X4GB PC3-10600 DDR3-1333Mhz DDR3 240pin DIMM Desktop Memory) in there does that mean I will have 12 or will it only give me another 4Gb?

if you add in more ram it should give you the full amount that you put in, it doesn't matter what else is currently in there

If you have 2x 4GB sticks now and add another 2x4GB then you will have 16GB total....but...the model number you provided first KVR1333D3E9S/4G I believe is one of Kingston's ECC sticks

well no not exactly as I brought them years ago I cant remember what the ram actually is but it was a set of 2 which I presumed the 4GB as it says on each stick meant 4GB as a set of 2. On my old xp 32 bit was 2GB ram. very confusing I know maybe some brands just put what the total is.
