Turn on computer without power button

Ok, my ASUS laptop (Q500a) will not turn on by the button. It has been working fine then I had to start shaking the whole entire laptop before the button would work and now it dos not work at all. I was wondering if there was anyway to turn it on without using the power button. I would like to reasign one of the keys on the keyboard as a power button. If not, how much do you think it would cost to get the power button realined with the circut? Any help would be appreciated.

The only setting in bios i can see that maybe useful, is 'wake on lid open'. It should be enabled by default i believe. Having it in standby permanently is not the best solution however.

Otherwise your looking at a repair, for which no one would like to estimate. You could try asking Asus for a likely cost, but there more likely to say we need to see it.

Well, unless you can turn it on, there's no way to assign a button to do anything. Laptops are usually a pain to work on so I imagine it'll cost you a good chunk if its a serious issue
