Where do files from Library (Document/Pictures/Downloads) save in? Also for files placed on desktop.

Okay, i have been really curious about this.
I have 2 Hard drives in my laptop.
I am about to send my laptop to RMA. And i am keeping my secondary drive with me.
These questions are made because my OS drive might get formatted.

1. Document/Pictures/Downloads Folders are saved in which drive?

2. When files are place at desktop, which hard drive is it saved to? (OS Drive, or my secondary drive?)

3. When i install a program to my secondary drive, a Document folder is made for it. So if my OS drive is formatted, will it mean my program will not work properly? (If the Document folder is in the OS drive)

4. If my OS drive is wiped by RMA people, will my shortcuts on the desktop be gone with the wipe, or does it appear again if I install back my secondary drive?

C: > Users > "your username" > all items you requested are located in this folder, including your desktop folder...

If you lose your C: ( what you are explaining is about to happen) then you will need to reinstall all of your software. It is only worth retaining your data and the original install.exe files of your software. Even if a program is installed on a seperate drive the windows registry is on C: and it's far too complicated to manually edit this later on. If you have program settings that you would like to back up then you may revert to these later on, once you have reinstalled the software on your RMA'd laptop. Search on google for how to do this (by individual program/game) as each program has its own settings folder...

Some programs (maybe all but idk), when installed on my secondary card drive, it creates a document folder. What if i just backup the document folder, and when the C drive is formatted, i just put back the document folder? Will everything be alright then?
