The CPU has been acting really wierd.

I have 40 degrees C in idle and when I turn up benchmarking in Intel Extreme Tuning Utility it goes to 90+ . I don't think this should be normal. I am using the stock values and the stock fan.

It is at stock speed - 3.4 GHz with turbo boost to 3.8 . I can barely get 150 - 200 fps in league of legends and it drops to smth like 5-10 which makes it unplayable and I think it's because of the cpu. Is it defective or something like that? Because I am thinking of sending it for a check to where I bought it from. How long do they actually keep the CPU until they return it?

Idk what is the reasoning behind this because I already made a stresstest in intel etu but okey.. Here is from prime95. And not shockingly the same thing happens.

Any intense benchmark on an Intel stock cooler will raise temperatures to 90C easily. This is actually quite normal. Get an aftermarket cooler.

My 4670K did the exact same thing as yours on the stock cooler. It went to 90C after a couple of seconds during Prime95 and IntelBurnTest. I installed a Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO and it maxes out at 50-60C now on those benchmarks at stock speeds.

MB - asrock z77 extreme 3
Power Supply - corsair vx550w
Just an ordinary AOC monitor 21 inches
I was on the latest driver but this things started happening so now I am using the previous driver but I still get drops and no League of legends is not the only game. CS feels kinda choppy though it says i have 130 fps and BF4 and Thief have drops too.
