How many watts will this build use?

I'm just wondering how many watts will the build use?
cpu: AMD 8150
cpu cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 plus
MOBO: Asus M5A97
RAM: Kingston Blu 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600
Storage: Seagate Barracuda 500GB 3.5" 7200RPM
GPU: HIS Radeon R9 270X 2GB

Even overclocking the CPU and GPU won't see anything even close to 600w. Max power consumption would be perhaps just over 400w in that case. A 500w or 550w would be perfectly fine. If you wan to plan for adding a second 270x down the road, then look toward a 750w unit. Stick with Antec, Corsair, XFX or Seasonic.

It's not always about the watts. I agree the wattage for the system would be about 400 watts. However, if you bought a 500 watt PSU, you're talking about 80% load. Is that a problem? Depends on the PSU. Heat is the enemy. That number will change which will affect the efficiency and wattage used. I also agree with sticking with list your provided. As for my selection, the Antec HCG 520M is $65. The 620M is $60. Which one would you choose? Right.
