Hello, we just built a new home and after we had the DSL installed, we noticed it would cut out everytime we ran water in the home. Did some testing and it definitley is the water running that interrupts the signal. The phone interface box is just above the utility room in the basement where the water softener, water heaters ,and Geothermal equipment is located.
Tried moving the modem/router to different phone jacks in the house; fail. Tried turning off the water softener as it has a time display on it; fail. Someone suggested covering a piece of cardboard with foil and putting it between the phone box and and other components. Tried it every which way; fail. Any other ideas before we try relocating the phone interface box? Thanks for any help!

Ok, turns out the electrician who wired the phone lines did a crappy job and the pump running was either interfering with the signal or was causing a vibration making the signal unstable. My brother in law reconnected it properly and all is good.
