I have a HP laptop and the dvd drive is not recognizing the disc...disc is in but I get a message saying no disc found or plea

***HELP*** My HP laptop dvd drive is not recognizing the disc (won't read or play and that weird noise that it makes when it does read is dead) I've downloaded 8.1 about 3 days ago. Never had this problem before I downloaded 8.1. My computer is fairly new just got it last June. When I go into My Computer, and click the icon for E/drive I get a message saying no disc found; please insert disc. I would do that and then restart my computer...nothing. Please help

if it is not detecting a single disc only then i guess the disc will be damaged or if it is not detecting any disc then i think u should use ur warranty for getting a replacement or u can contact HP for the problem ,
let me know if anything got to resolve ur problem
