How to manually update DirectX

Hello guys, I just received my new GPU today. It's the MSI Radeon 7770 GHz Ed. I'm having issues with playing Battlefield 3 and 4. Both say that I do not have the latest DirectX that is required to play it. I wen ton the Microsoft downloads site and the DirectX listed there were all 9. If you guys could help it would be great. I'm running Win8 64-Bit

I have no option to download it. Is there anyway to check if I have DirectX 11 and not 10? Or are they backwards compatible?

Run dxdiag.exe this will show you what version you are running.

When I open Frapps to take a screenshot it says that I don't have DirectX 9... What?

And I tried downloading 9 from the link and it says I have a newer version.

Windows 8 comes with DirectX 11.

Did you try my second link for the web installer? Is that what tells you have a newer version?

Yes, I tried the second link and it said I had a newer version, I restarted my computer and my gpu died. Filing for replacement now.

Sorry to hear that your GPU went. I wouldn't count on that being your problem with DirectX, but you'll have to wait and see when you get your replacement. Please be sure to update us once you get your replacement.

Sorry for taking awhile to respond. I work in Yemen, live in Canada and I was travelling home Tuesday, Wednesday. Long trip, but I'm not as jet lagged this time around. Maybe I got a little more sleep on the plane this go around.

I asked for a refund instead, I've heard lots of issues on Newegg of driver issues, so I'm looking at different 7770s. And no worries, man. I appreciate your help. :]
