Trying to get SP2

Hello, I just purchased a GPU that can play games running on DX11.
How ever, Im on SP! and I need to update to SP2 to get dx11(current on dx10)
I keep getting update errors saying " installion was not succesful, a system error prevented the service pack from running. Please dwnload and run the "check for system update readiness tool"

Service Pack 2 for what? There is no SP2 for Windows 7 or 8, and it may be time for a reinstall of Vista if you haven't done so in years and a service pack is failing or refusing to install.

Vista works perfectly fine, albeit more slowly. Windows 8 is faster than 7 and runs using less system resources. If the OP is going to upgrade, he would be better served by 8 than 7.
