I'm not sure if I'm missing something, on the amazon page of the GTX 660 :http://www.amazon.co.uk/Gigabyte-NVIDIA-GTX660-PCI-E-Graphics/dp/B0099AOAUI#productDetails

and on the gigabyte product info : http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4361#ov

, it says that the PSU requirement is 450w - is that just for the GPU or for the whole unit?

I'm probably just being stupid but it's for the whole PSU unit right?

That's for the whole computer, yes, not just the graphics card.

it is the minimum requirement for your whole pc . . considering 100w for cpu, 180w-above for GPU and other like hdd fans and dvd etc . . which power supply you are looking for ?

I've got a Corsair Builder Series CX 500 Watt, if I can remember correctly. But I'm looking to upgrade from a Radeon 7750 to a GTX 660(Non-Ti).

it will work fine . . gtx 660 will draw close to 170 watts so no problem

I personally don't like the CX series although it will run your build; in the future I would upgrade to something like a Seasonic 620W PSU.
