after overclocking high temperatures with h80i

hey, so I overclocked my intel core i5 760 from 2.80GHz to 3.5Ghz and the temperatures went up. At idle the cpu is about 25°C to 30°C and at load the maximum it reached was 50°C. is this normal. Also when overclocking i set the voltages to auto and i read al lot of stories that this may fry your cpu is this true? because for me it's working fine.

pc specs:
cpu: i5 760
gpu: hd 6959
ram: kingston (2gbx4) 8gb
mobo: msi p55-gd65
cpu cooler: corsair h80i
psu: corsair 450 watt
os: windows 7 ultimate 64 bit

Yes, that's the expected result from Overclocking the chip.
You might want to manually control the voltage.

And yes, it's very very true.
