UEFI is the newer type of BIOS.... I don't see what you mean.

My comment makes me look so stupid I had to update :D
I have never partitioned a Hard Drive so I don't know what I'm even doing answering to this :D

Legacy BIOS limits the boot drive to max of about 3 GB. UEFI breaks the limit.

I don't think partition will make legacy BIOS recognize it, because BIOS will still know that it is a 4 GB drive no matter how you partition it, only OS knows the partition.
