Hey, im building someone a PC, they want to play cod ghosts. Just wondering what the recommended AMD CPU is for the game as I've heard that the official specs are a little over exaggerated. Personally i'm thinking FX-4350? Thanks.

More about : recommended amd cpu cod ghosts

Actually they're not, the game is so terribly optimized that it doesn't really run well on anything. With my FX-6350 OC'd to 4.4 GHz and GTX 770, which are well above the minimum and pretty much at the ridiculously high recommended, I got a lot of stuttering and poor framerates, especially with some different types of gun sights, even with my hardware when I played on the free weekend.

Either get the game on console or just get Black Ops 2.

GPU is more important to consider for CoD Ghosts
What are the specs of the system, what's the budget

Yea you can go with an AMD CPU because there cheaper than Intel and also the fact that games like COD and Battlefield mostly depend on the Graphics card. BTW can you list all the components that u r planning build for ur friend.

Depending on your friends budget I would say the AMD 6300 ($120 USD) or 6350 ($140USD). That way they will have a bit more power than the quad core for later games and other programs. If they have the money laying around just tell them to get the 8350 ($190) or 8320 ($160) and don't worry about being able to play stuff.

I have an AMD 8350 and it runs anything with the HD 7950 3gb graphics card, and 16gb of 1600 mhz ram I have paired with it.

There isn't really a budget yet, their just looking at how much it will cost for a PC that can play COD ghost.

Any PC that costs above $300 can play CoD, just depends on the settings, resolutions, and FPS that he is looking for. I would love to answer to question, but it has been too vague so far.

Perhaps a FX6300 and a GTX 760, if the prices on the 270X have come down you can go with one of those.

alright thanks. Personally I have the 8350 with the 7790 that I use for BF4 which runs great so doubt ghosts has a higher demand, and considering that the only games he's looking to play is ghosts and gmod then I think its the 6300 or 6350. :)

Ok
Any idea what graphics card your friend wants to get? If they want it playable at max graphics I would say a Nvidia 770 or a AMD 280X (if the prices have finally come down). If they want to spend a bit less for a graphics card I'd say a Nividia 760 or an AMD 270X.

On ram I would say 8gb minimum. Preferably 16gb in 2X8gb sticks and low profile ram that doesn't look like you could comb your hair with it.

Cpu cooler- What I like is a bit expensive, Noctua heat sinks. Either a NH- U12S or NH-14S is what I would get. Noctua has the best mounting solution I have ever come across, silent high performing fans , excellent 6 year warranty and they will even give you updated mounting hardware if you need it. And it is designed in Austria and made in Taiwan. Best place I have found to buy Noctua coolers is NCIX, http://www.ncixus.com/products/?manufactureid=3624&mino...

Otherwise get a decent aftermarket cpu heat sink from Cooler Master if they only want to spend about $35

What kind of motherboard is all this hardware going on to?
Also I'm curious what case and power supply for this build.

For cases I would look at NZXT, Cooler Master, Corsair or just have your friend browse until he finds one he likes. Make sure the case supports coolers up to 165mm tall.

For power supplies I would go with something from either Corsair or Seasonic.
