Hi Guys I want to upgrade to a new graphics card, still using my old trusty gtx 470, I recently upgraded my motherboard and cpu so I want something to go with it.

My specs are:
Thermaltake Litepower 500W
Msi 970A-G46 rev2
AMD FX-6300 Black Edition
Corsair Dominator 4x2GB 1600Mhz RAM

So my question is a ASUS Gtx 760 or ASUS R9 270x Direct CU 2 TOP going to be a better choice for me. I was thinking the R9 because as far as i know it would run much better with a amd processor and mantle. I would love to be able to play bf4 on high-ultra, as my gtx 470 could do medium-high without aa and the fancy things turned off. Thanks for the input Guys!!

GTX 760 turns in better performance...but only slightly better. And while it shows 25% more FPS in BF3 and BioShock Infinite, it costs 40% more ($280USD for the GTX, $200USD for the 270X).

So, if you can easily afford the $280, go for the GTX. But if your wallet is going to scream at the extra $80, consider saving the money. Paying 40% more for only a 25% performance upgrade doesn't seem like a bargain to me.

On ultra, the 270x scrapes it, and that is the 1st gen, the new one is better. The 270x is better than the gtx 760. Also, when mantle is released...

Overall, the gtx 760 is a faster card. It depends on the games. What is the price difference between the two you are considering?

He mentioned bf4, therefore the 270x would be the better option. (y)

Therefore, if he wants to play bf4 on high-ultra, the 270x is better.

A amd cpu runs the same with either amd or nvidia gpu, same with the gpu in a amd or intel system.

The 760 will run BF$ very well. The difference to me is the price between the two.

Price/Perfomance.
