for the price range and your uses you listed it is the best choice :)

Yes. That's a decent processor, and the price is good. The 8320 is better and costs just a little more.

Good is a subjective term. Do you have a budget, certain games in mind, and an expected level of performance?

is your mother board chipset compatible with vishera chips? and piledriver is a fair upgrade from deneb

I'd get the 8320. It's still in that range.

you can support a 6300 on your mobo you might have to do a bios update. it requires bios version F7 to run properly. and your board has good phasing (8+2)
http://www.gigabyte.us/support-downloads/cpu-support-po...
for video editing this cpu is better than your current phenom

seeing how your budget is 150 and a 8320 is 185 in australia i would stick with the 6300

i would only go as high as a 770 and i would expect to see a bottleneck with 2 7870 as well. you can overclock it since you have good phasing but make sure you get a good cooler because that puppy gets hot. with a good overclock you can try a 780 but i would expect to see a bottleneck just not as much. i would just stick with a 770 especially if your gaming at 1080p @ 60hz

How are you willing to spend so much on graphics but so little on your processor? These days a good processor will last you longer than a good gpu.

I know, man. Entertainment electronics are overpriced in Australia. Something to do with government regulations and taxes right? I know it's bothersome, but I don't think a 6300 is worth buying for everything else you have.

I'd wait and save. You're not too far from the 8000s.

well the tripe monitor arent really that bad because of the resolution it is...
skitz triple monitor pixel count 2750400
1080p resolution pixel count 2073600
1440p resolution pixel count 3686400

it is right in between the 2 so a 770 shouldnt have a problem with it but get a 4gb version because it will eat up vram

yes it will help in the overall performance and you have to think to that most games out right now are singlethreaded meaning they only use 1 process core per thread and most games cant use above a four cores any way there are a few that make use of hyper threading and the way 8 core visheras divide tasks. a 8 core vishera is good and computes faster than a 6 core but a 6 core is fine as well. i still would be reluctant to put a 780 with it because of the speed of the card. a 770 i think would be the limit but with your setup a 4gb 770 and a nice overclock on the 6300 should do you fine. but the longer you save up the better performance you will have so its up to you.

and a d-14 can handle some heat. that is pretty much the best air cooler you can get. here is some benches for a 770
http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/ASUS/GeForce_GTX_770...
as you can see your resolution will be some where in between the 1080p and 1600p benches if you cut them in half on bioshock infinite you should be getting somewhere in between 80-90 fps on max settings. with your cpu it may look more like 70- 80fps just a guesstimate. probably being a little harsh but just so you can get an idea. and i assume the panels are all 60hz so you will be fine. i mean games like crysis 3 sure your not going to max that but even a 780 wouldnt max it.
