Can't find disk with OS installation without the disc in the tray

I just made a raid array from two western digital 1tb caviars and everything went fine when I installed the OS until it finally got to were I was suppose to login. So I logged in with my account and I was at the metro screen for two seconds then all of a sudden my computer restarted itself! I didn't think anything of it at first until I got an error saying "cannot find OS, remove all other drives that do not have OS". I put the CD key in to try and reinstall Win 8 to see if that would fix it, but it turns out it boots up fine with the CD in the disk tray. What the heck? I don't want to leave the installation disc in my tray all the time. Can you not install you OS on a raid array? Any help would be appreciated!

I built it, and it's a Sabertooth Z77 by Asus. I've tried setting the raid configuration to main boot drive but it show's no drive in my system. I'm about to try deleting and recreating the array to see if that helps

I have seen this problem before. Most of the time zapping the BIOS (resetting the CMOS) will work. I am not sure if the Sabertooth has a reset pin, and if not try popping out the battery for awhile (10 + min) while the machine is off. If that does not work and the BIOS isn't showing the RAID array then try formatting each drive and recreating the RAID array. Then reinstall Win8 and see if the problem persists. If it works then great! If not then there are a few other solutions I know of.

Edit: There is a CMOS reset pin towards the bottom of the board opposite of the CPU socket. Move the cap to the 2-3 slot for 5-10 seconds when the machine if off, then move it back to the 1-2 position and boot to the BIOS and re-enter the BIOS data.
