Okay, this has been a recurring issue in several games and is really starting to tick me off.....first off:

What I'm running (pulled from dxdiag)
- Operating System: Windows 8.1 64-bit (6.3, Build 9600)
- Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3630QM CPU @ 2.40GHz (8 CPUs)
- Memory: 16384MB RAM
- Card name: Intel(R) HD Graphics 4000
Driver Version: 10.18.10.3412
- Card name: Microsoft Basic Display Driver <------ this one is supposed to be my GTX 675MX
Manufacturer:
Chip type:
DAC type:
Device Type: Display-Only Device

Here's the issue:

1) Windows doesn't seem to be recognizing my Geforce, when I disable my intel HD integrated [it's the one causing me memory errors and laggy gameplay/crashing etc like DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (igdkmd64.sys)] it just shows microsoft basic display.
I updated drivers for both, still running slow and eating memory.

2) my disk is always showing 100%, even when I first boot up; running nothing and loading up steam on startup.

I'm not able to run any memory intensive game. BF4 I'm lagging on, SMITE I rubberband to hell, Can't play Titanfall AT ALL because of start-stop framerate (assuming frames because my ping is always good). When I disable it to attempt it to run solely off my GTX 675, I get the basic display driver up above, and nothing runs. I even crashed splinter cell chaos theory multiple times (when I was originally able to actually take a pic of the error to get help).

Posted on a intel and they've been zero help, I'm about to take a sledge to this thing and buy a console! Help would be appreciated. I mean I haven't even had this thing for a year and it's giving me so much trouble, bought off IBUYPOWER.

How do I attach dxdiags?

edit: regarding the rubberbanding on smite (nothing else in the way of stuttering/lag happens) - the odd thing about this one is it didn't use to happen, and I've seen several posts on it (can't access smite forums for some reason) with no fixes. I figure it's my hardware/router on that one though. Friends play it fine.

I dunno, after I sent it in to get it repaired for something else. A month or two after that. In October/November.

edit: the crashing doesn't happen all the time, indeed not since I updated the intel graphics, but so far that I know it's never registered my GTX. I've always kept my GTX up to date, as I had assumed my computer was running off that. Since I set my nvidia control panel to 'high performance processor'. Everything still runs sub-par to what it should though.

So, I just looked at my card's specs. It says I should have 3.1 gb of dedicated memory from the graphics card. With the additional 16 gb from my pc, there should be no reason I'm running out of memory.....ever; let alone running piss poor on the lowest settings I can set. Nothing is hardware reserved, I think the problem is my computer just isn't recognizing my Geforce GTX at all outside of device manager. CYRI (Syslabs) finds it just fine, so I don't know what's going on.

I didn't install anything, this laptop was bought off the IBUYPOWER website. With the purpose of playing games. The apparently didn't configure it properly. My BIOS menus are terrible, I've looked through them to try to see, and it doesn't show anything about my graphics cards or memory.

Running windows 8, and I have to open my file explorer just to get the option of clicking control panel. Anyone else think that's entirely way too many windows/tabs/steps to complete to get to that virtual mem?

My virtual memory is at 16384 mb......which I think is the total of my memory. I'm positive it's my graphics card at this point, so can we move to getting that to be recognized properly? I crashed with a memory error, but that error was traced back to my Intel HD 4000 graphics card (integrated), which I have updated the drivers for and since not crashed........the problem is everything still runs poorly.

I SHOULD be able to run everything close to max with the graphics card that I have.

edit: I am appreciative of the help and input, I'm not a complete novice here, I've just run out of my depth of knowledge. I've been fighting this for a long time now, and I think the answer is finally in sight, forgive me if I'm impatient.

Yeah, I got that, but wouldn't it still require me to have sufficient memory to run things from my graphics card, in addition to that paged memory pool?

I thought that was specifically for my CPU to use, and then my video card pulls from it's own memory.

Changed my virtual to 16,384 - 32768. (doubled)

Nah, tradesman, my system memory is 16.0 flat, with only 15.9 useable. Will restart and also look into doing the bios thing, see if that helps, thanks guys!

Also, just so you know, I did disable my integrated in the device manager. I'll check bios as well.

Yeah, as I thought, I had already looked for the PCIE in my bios, it doesn't even have a chipset area. There's no where I can go to see IGP or PCIE at all, anywhere in my bios.

EDIT: I forgot to mention, the ONE place I did see PCI was in PCI latency timers. It had 32 PCI Bus Clocks on there, with the option to change to more. Up to 248 I think. Should I change that?

That's the problem I was having, It's an intel HM77 chipset. I don't know for sure, like I said because I bought it from IBUYPOWER, and they don't have the page for my cz-17 anymore. I googled and apparently it's that one. I also figured out that I'm running Optimus so I CAN'T disable my intel hd 4000. Because of the way optimus works, my display is connected directly to my IGP (intel), so I did some fiddling with the nvidia control panel and hopefully I fixed my issue, about to test it.

For the newer laptop (the cz-27) I checked to see if it even showed what mobo it had, and it didn't say. So I can only really rely on google I guess.

Well that's the thing, it is installed. It shows up in device manager, the reason I think I was having issues was that my control panel's settings were set to auto use, and for some reason it kept choosing the intel hd for the intensive programs. I tested it and it seems to have fixed my Framerate in titanfall, so I'm happy. Thanks for the moral support guys! Also, a recent nvidia update for my GPU came out specifically for the notebook version, which helped.

Edit: going to play a few games full-screen instead of in window to monitor resources and I'll report back.

Hah, you say that, after you were asking me questions about things I said I already did? And to Tradesman and Terry, yeah, everything works fine now. Server lag on titanfall's end is all I get now.
