How overkill is the GTX 770 for two 900p/1080p minitors?

Just upgraded my PC to a GTX 770 for gaming and After Effects ray tracing. I plan to game in 1080p at some point soon, but right now I am rocking two 1600x900 monitors, and when gaming, the second monitor is mainly used for GPU temperature monitoring and browsing. Only one monitor is displaying gameplay. I was told that I kind of overkilled it by going with a 770 not going beyond 1080p, which gets me pretty excited, because I wanted to prepare for games like Witcher 3 and Watch Dogs. First time I ever upgraded a component in my PC, so I'm just wondering just how truly awesome this card is at 1080p. I almost regret not getting the 780, but everyone I have talked to says I sort of overkilled it already since the 770 is mainly built for resolutions above 1080p. What do you think? Will this card give me awesome performance at 900p/1080p on next-gen games?

Rig:
i5 2500K, 3.3ghz (3.7ghz Turbo)
8gb DDR3 memory
EVGA GTX 770 2gb GDDR5 SC with ACX Cooler
ASUS Maximus Genie-Z IV Motherboard, Z68
Seagate 500gb 7200rpm (OS Host)
WD 2tb 7200rpm (Game Installs)
No SSD sadly

Solution
Gtx 770 is great card and you will be playing games in ultra setting in 1080p. The two monitor shouldn't affect frames very much, so you can have them running at the same time. If you are concerned about any preformance lose, you can connect your second screen to your on-board graphics as I have done in the past.
