Num and Caps Lock Not Working

I have an Acer Aspire 7741Z-4643 laptop, running on Windows 7 Home Premium. Yesterday, my num and caps lock were displaying on the screen properly and when I booted up this morning, the displays disappeared.

Any help to this annoying problem would be greatly appreciated!

I am experiencing the same trouble since two or three days ago. Acer 5750-9460 and Windows 7 Home. I guess it may be due to an update that happened in less than a week ago which automatically rebooted my system. When you also try to increase the audio volume with Fn + up or down arrow key , it doesn't show you anything on screen anymore as it used to.
