Hey guys recently I bought a brand new rig with the Kingston SSD HyperX 3K 120gb. Right after installing windows 7 (and 8, tried both) I would occasionally get freezes on my desktop (lasts around 30sec-1min, can still move mouse/keyboard and switch between windows) that would then stop and the system continues working normally. AHCI is properly set in my BIOS, I have the latest sata drivers from amd so I don't know what else to do. I tested the disc with toolbox 2.0/hdtune/AS ssd and everything seems normal.

My specs:
AMD fx 6300
Gigabyte 970a-ud3p mobo
8gb ram Kingston hyperx
GTX 770 2gb vram

Hi, I'm Jewel with Kingston Technical Support. The operating system locking up could have to do with several different factors and brings up several questions.
Have you already tested the memory to make sure that is not the issue?
What is the part number of the memory starting with KHX?
Is the memory running on default timings or overclocked? Does it make a difference in either setting?
When you say you have the latest SATA drivers, did you go to Gigabyte's website and download/install the latest AMD Chipset driver dated 1/17/2014?
Does the lock up occur after any particular action linked to the drive? Like accessing/saving data or opening an application.
Have you looked at the SMART info on the drive? Most 3rd party SMART monitoring...

Have you looked at the SMART info on the drive? Most 3rd party SMART monitoring tools will let you know if the drive is in a Good/Bad state like CrystalDiskInfo.

Thanks for the reply. Actually managed to solve the problem. Updating the LAN drivers for my motherboard from gigabytes official website fixed the issue. Not sure if this is a compatibility issue with kingston or just the motherboards fault. Hope this can help for future reference. Btw its pretty cool that you guys post official support here. Cheers.
