hi all...

i need help here to find an external that is without hardware encryption, so if the cassing is fail, i can just open the case and plug the hardrive inside it to sata port in PC

i had bad experience with WD mybook essential 3TB, the case is fail, and i tried save my data by opening the case just to find i cannot see the data inside without the usb-sata bridge
the drive is detected just find, and scanned by hdtune without any problem
but the data is lost. it just show unformatted partition
i tried all recovery software but fail, i found nothing...
after that, i search the same WD essensial 3TB model, and finnally i can find my data again, thank god for that...

can you help me find a 3TB external drive without encryption??
or maybe there is a list of ext drive with/without hardware encrypion i can choose from??? 2 , 3 or 4TB is just fine, but i prefer maybe 3TB to replace my old drive

Solution
Your better off making your own. Just buy a OEM 3TB Bare drive and a 3.5 External hard drive enclosure of your choice. Then just put the drive in the enclosure which takes about 5 minutes, then connect it to the computer as normal and format it.
