Hi Guys,
I've got a laptop and as it powers on it almost shuts down again and the power symbol light flashes twice blue and twice amber.

I've tried turning off the power and holding for 30seconds and then booting back up. Tried another HDD and another battery and power cable. I'm thinking it could be RAM or PSU. Worst case is motherboard.

Any help on this would be appreciated.

Kind Regards,
Ray

Check on the underside that the battery is fully locked in to place properly, and then check that the battery's safety locking switch (the one that is not spring-loaded) is in the locked position (closed padlock symbol)

Then reboot.

Hi Phillip,

They were clasped down, I try to make sure bits like are done so that it can eliminate any minor thing. Thanks for your suggestion though =)

the HDD tries to boot but dies and the CPU fan just spins. My thought was the battery but I've tried other and no battery. Still same result. It is a head scratcher.

Hi Phillip and anyone else :)

I've managed to get the laptop up and running via dismantlement and a good clean out. something must have been loosened or some piece of rubbish getting in the way.

Thanks for those who read and considered this issue and thanks to Phillip for his suggestion.

Hopefully i can help someone else out on here.

Kind Regards

Ray.
