Hi guys I wonder if there are any vyatta Gods out there that might be able to help....
I have a BGP router running 6.6 which I need backtrack to 6.5 due to a couple of bugs.
There is only a 6.6 image on this server.
Is it possible to install 6.5 without losing the configs as I will have to do this remotely as it is not on site.
If I lose the configs upon reboot when 6.5 is installed I will not be able to access it to make any other changes.

Please help!

Scout,

Cheers for the info. Nothing there really helped either if im honest, but I did find a way of doing it

for those interested:

add system image http://www.vyatta.org/downloads/<vyatta.software>.iso

then once that has downloaded:

show system image

this will display the images you have installed and you can chose which one you wish to be started at boot by:

set system image default-boot <imagename>

I would recomment double checking your config.boot has copied over before rebooting the router to the new image however

I checked mine via SCP it should be in the path root/boot/vyatta/config/config.boot this should match the same size as your current running config.boot located in opt/vyatta/etc/config/config.boot

once your happy just run:

reboot

once the rooter has restarted you will be running the new image. you can checl this with the

show ver

command
