The USB stick must be formatted using the Fat, fat32 file system. If your stick is formatted to NTFS the TV and STB won't recognize it unfortunately.
It's not a biggie though, just copy the content to the PC and then right click on the USB device in My Computer and select format. Select FAT or FAT32 as the file system and also the Quick Format option. Then press the format button and it will be ready for use in a few seconds.
Just be aware that there a few limitations on the FAT file systems like file size (>4GB max) and also long file names.

Check the manual to your devices and make sure the size stick is supported and as above, check what format it has to be in.
