I've been trying everything that were posted fixed stutter (FPS) issues by other users, with no success. But from what I've been hearing is it's a physx problem. So I started dabbling in that. I have 2 670 SC in SLI...I first tried applying the 2nd gpu to physx with no success but when I loaded the game on the top left corner in big letters it said PhysX -> CPU. I also tried just dedicating the whole 2nd gpu to physx with no success either. I have a i5-2500k cpu so no HT.

Is there anything in the user.cfg i can change to stop the game for going to the cpu for physx?
I tried changing the DX11 to DX9 and making it a read only file but that didn't help either.

I tried changing the vysnc off and on with the game and nvidia control panels multiple options.....even tried with triple buffering.

I'm not really sure how to turn adv physx on or off or just regular physx on or off.

I'm not really sure what else to do. Any ideas?

First thing is to be sure to install the very latest Nvidia drivers from the Nvidia download site. Make sure to install the PhysX drivers. After that, there should be no reason to set anything other than "Auto", which will automatically choose both cards in SLI to render PhysX and graphics, which is ideal.

It sounds like you may be doing this, but you can enable the "PhysX Visual Indicator" from the 3D Setting tab on the Nvidia Control Panel. In Metro Last Light, it will initially say "PHYSX->CPU", but after a few seconds should say "PHYSX->GPU"

Did you know that there is a Metro LL benchmark you can run? This might be an easier way to troubleshoot your performance issues, rather than playing the game. If you play from Steam, the benchmark can be found at:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Metro Last Light\MetroLLbenchmark.exe

Otherwise, you can search for that "MetroLLbenchmark.exe" file and run it. Be sure to select Advanced PhysX in the configuration settings.
