Hi, I just bought the Nvidia GeForce 770, but now I am not sure if I did the right thing.

I have two 550 Ti's for SLI, and from what I read on Nvidia, that is supposed to put out double output, and GeForce 770 about double the performance of 550 Ti. So I was wondering if I am going to see better performance at all.

I also want to know if I can SLI 770 and 550Ti. I read around but saw different answers. Some saying you cannot at all, some saying u can but it will slow down the faster GPU to the slower one, and lastly u can and it will just run the regular graphics on the 770 while running the Physx on the slower one. Last comment was from the Nvidia site, but I see so many people saying that you cannot or that it is just not worth it.

Any input and source would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Now way.
GTX 770 outperfom the SLI GTX 550 easily.

Anyway you get more extras with 770 like Shadowplay and LED Visualizer.

Good move on the 770...great card and a better graphics solution than dual 550ti's. To your question on SLI, no; you cannot SLI different model GPUs at all. What you can do, is dedicate the different card for PhysX. This will aid you on any titles which take advantage of the tech.

To do this:

1. Open nVidia control panel
2. Select the "Configure SLI, Surround, PhysX" under "3D Settings"
3. Under the PhysX Settings, select your GTX 550ti in the drop down

Congrats on the new card friend.

Yes the best use would be to have the 770 as your GPU and use the 550ti as the physX card that way you can have good FPS with phyx enabled.
