Upgrading GT 220, options on $140 budget?

Hello, since the best my desktop's motherboard has to offer is PCIe x16 2.0 i'm wondering what options I have for upgrading my GT 220. Been looking, but I understand some newer/faster cards might actually result in slower graphics...?
Any advice/pointers will be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

  1. For something under $140 I recommend the ASUS GTX750-PHOC-1GD5 http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00IB9P1GK but if you could afford the EVGA GTX 750Ti http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00IDG3PRI.

If you can find a little more in your budget the 750Ti is definitely worth the price increase but the 750 is still a nice card for the price.

I just realized you're in the Netherlands and I found the Gigabyte GTX 750 http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00IGQ4URO in your price range.

The MSI GTX 750Ti Gaming http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00I602S92 is a bit over but worth it.
  3. The 750Ti is indeed a strong card so I would save up and choose the MSI GTX 750Ti like CeePeeEwe suggested.
