My problem is very similar to http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-1803869/fails-id... but without the solution part.
My PC =
FX-6300
HD 7750 XFX 1Gb GDDR5
4 Gb RAM
Windows 7 Professional OS 64 bit

Ok i need serious help here, i used a software from AMD to sweep my drivers (amdcleanuputility) because i noticed that, even when i downloaded and installed new drivers to update previous ones, the update never happened, it kept saying it was outdated.
So after running the software and rebooting my PC i re-installed my MB drivers and checked that they were installed well (after rebooting, again) and then i tried to install the GPU driver from the disc inside of it's box, after the installation process i noticed the PC didn't ask for a reboot, thought that was weird so i ran GPU-Z before and after rebooting ( i rebooted by myself, my pc didn't ask for it) to find out it said "Standart VGA Adapter" after this i tried everything, i found out i have MS Network v4.5 installed (verified by downloading again), tried updating to the latest AMD driver (13.12), sweeped my drivers with other program in safe mode and reinstalled old and new drivers, separately and one after the other multiple times with no results, i tried to solve problems of MS Network with another software, with no possitive results, i even turned off my pc, got my GPU out of it, then in again, and booted with no results....again. Literally all i have left is to reinstall windows

EXTRA INFO
My screen is, at the moment, connected to the GPU VGA port, i know the GPU is at least working (fan is working and the image is stable and sharp...for 1024x768) i also used amddriverdownloader and that is the ONLY software that actually tells me i have an HD 7750 and that i need the 13.14 drivers, which i have tried to install at least 5 times today (i double checked and the drivers are for win7 64 bit system)
I will take this PC to a tech to see if he can help me, but i also beg (yes, beg) for your help, please :c
PS= excuse any typos or grammar mistakes, i don't know english that good, it's not the language i use every day c:

THE SOLUTION
So, after a good night's sleep i woke up and turned on my PC, reinstalled drivers and rebooted for the same result, 1024 x 768 res with standart VGA adapter, after that i right clicked the screen and watched the resolution part then i clicked the advanced configuration thing to also find out that it said standart VGA adapter, but then i checked the properties of the device, went to the drivers tab and then the details of the driver to find out that my PC wasn't searching the drivers in the proper folder, i changed the folder to the amd catalyst and BAM the card changed to HD 7700 series and the pc told me it needed a reboot...after all the solution was quite simple (note that i NEVER EVER changed the route where the drivers were installed, i always used express config) thanks for the support given! \^^/

Perhaps try it from a different perspective and see how it goes.
1. Is it possible for you to use DVI or HDMI? VGA has poorer quality. Anyways, you don't have to switch cables right now to test the rest of the stuff...
2. Go to add/remove programs and remove any AMD/ATI software, drivers, etc... that you find.
3. Reboot
4. Go to amd.com and download the latest drivers for your Operating System.
5. Install the new drivers.
6. Reboot
7. If your computer works at this point, ignore the rest... otherwise.
8. Go to add/remove programs and do a proper uninstall of the AMD/ATI video card drivers. Maybe they did not get properly removed last time when you used drivesweeper.
9. Reboot
10. Run any extra cleanup utilities at this point if you like (like drive sweeper).
11. Install the drivers again and reboot.

If at any point in this process you start seeing error or things don't go right, then post a detailed step by step of what happened. Maybe that might allow us to find the cause.

Also, do you have onboard graphics disabled in the BIOS (if you have such a thing) and is your VGA connect to the video card plugs and not the motherboard VGA plugs?

Forgot a bit of info, my MB is a 760GM-P21, so yes have an integrated GPU which actually SHOULD be disabled because my GPU was working on it's own before all the mess i caused, and amddriverdownloader actually detects my HD 7750, also GPU-Z detects it's GDDR5 and the architecture also matches, but the specs are MUCH lower, and yes my screen is directly connected to the GPU... i will check now the BIOS and follow your steps

Another thing, there are always reports of something going wrong with the installations (warnings) but when i check all the stuff says success (just like the guy i sent in the link) i also reinstalled the ms NET Framework completely and removed the drivers...i will now try once again

Write down the exact errors that you see and the steps you took that lead up to the errors. Perhaps this can be used to track down what is going on.

Or just do a google search on some of the errors yourself, if you don't feel like posting them. :)

Also you might try going to your command-line and checking for damage to Windows itself:
Run: "sfc /scannow"

OK so final report for today...everything is the same, the scan didn't find anything unusual and my PC thinks he is working fine because no error has shown up, the ONLY error i've gotten is that i NEED Framework 4.5 to view the catalyst (which i uninstalled and then installed v4.0 because i thought it wasn't working propperly) tomorrow i will download v 4.5 and test the steps once more, if this doesn't work i go to the tech, sorry for not providing the optimal quantity of information but i've been trying to solve this silly problem for the past 6 hours and im kind of tired, thanks for the support you gave me (for real, thanks) but i will continue tomorrow with this.
If ANYONE else has any kind of idea of what might be happening please share it here...bye for now

Oh thanks. [Although, maybe you should mark yourself as the best answer. :)  -- after all I didn't figure it out.]

That is a very weird "bug" you had; never would have thought of that.
