I'll start at the beginning and try to be as clear as possible. I built this computer in the summer of 2012. I ended up building a hackintosh and was dual booting Snow Leopard and Windows 7. After Windows 8 came out i upgraded to that and primarily used Windows.

The problem presented itself last November when i moved it while putting a new desk in my room. The computer sat for about a week unplugged while I cleaned and got around to building the new desk. After reconnecting the computer and setting everything up I went to turn it on and no signs of life what so ever. I opened the case checked that everything was properly connected, reconnecting some cables and still nothing. I tested the PSU with the paperclip trick and the fan started spinning, after hearing that method isnt reliable, I tested my rig with my buddies working PSU and got nothing. At this point I came to the conclusion that the MB was bad and I sent it back to Gigabyte. After 2 months or so I received the "repaired" board and rebuilt the PC with it.

This is where things get interesting. Considering the fact that it was the exact same board I figured no need for a clean install I can just plug and play. So I rebuilt the rig and I went to turn it on... It powered on!!! I was relieved and excited but as it attempted to boot into windows it powered off. Realizing the BIOs had been reset I figured it shut down because some of the settings were off (i had to use specific settings for the hackintosh to work) so I made the changes and it sort of seemed to help. From then on I was able to boot into windows but it would shut down shortly after.

Frustrated, I went out and bought a new PSU. Once again the computer seemed slightly better, it would boot into windows and stay on for a little while longer (15-20 minutes) was its best. It appears to last the longest initially and every subsequent time much shorter until I let it sit for a few hours (overheating?).

I tried playing with it tonight and couldn't even get it into the bios on the first start up.

My Rig includes

CPU: Intel Core i7 2700k
MB: Gigabyte z68x-ud3h-b3
PSU: Old one Corsair TX650, new one Corsair CX750
HDD: 1TB Seagate Barracuda
RAM: 2x 8GB Corsair Vengeance
GPU: Zotac Geforce GTX 670
DVD Drive: Sony something
CASE: Fractal Define R3

If i forgot anything/you need other information don't hesitate to ask.

Thanks
