I am already running this on Windows XP, if I upgrade to windows 7. Do I need to uninstall Office 2003 or just run the service packs appropriately?

Hope you can help,
Lesley

Solution
I have replaced a couple of ten-year-old PCs with Windows XP and Office 2003 on them, with new PCs with Windows 7. I had no problem installing Office 2003 on the new Windows 7 PCs and getting it activated with the Office 2003 license keys from the old PCs (the old XP PCs with Office 2003 on them had failed and were thrown out). Even if you wipe your drive and do a clean install of Windows 7, you should have no problem installing 2003 and activating it, assuming of course that you have the Office 2003 install disks.
If you do the in place upgrade instead of a clean install then Office 2003 should be fine. I am running Office 2003 on Windows 7. However, I did a clean install of Windows 7 and then installed Office 2003. The best option is to do a clean install of Windows 7 and then re-install Office. Either way you choose to do it you will want to make sure you get the Windows 7 drivers first and store them on a CD, DVD or flash drive. The drivers I am referring to are the motherboard drivers. Check to see if they are available from the PC manufacturer.

Hi Ken,

Thank you for your reply.

Motherboard drivers from PC manufacturer.... So are you saying that I need to check if this computer can handle Windows 7 first before I click on upgrade?

Yes, I think it would be a good idea It wouldn't hurt to look.
