where would i find the wireless card

Explain what is happening, and what you are trying to do.
If you are saying it is not working then you need to hold down the Fn key and press the numbered key with the wi-fi symbol on it at the same time to enable it.
If it is not working then you need to install the driver for the wi-fi card that is internal to the laptop or computer based tower system.
You can do this on a laptop by looking at the brand name, and the model number.
On a laptop it is located on a sticker on the underside of the laptop.
One you have both, simply Google search.
Brand name model number and then put the words drivers after it in the search.
Click on the maker of the laptops website, click on support.
Enter the model number of the laptop. there will be a section where you can download the drivers for the wi-fi card and install them.
After that the adapter should work.
Now if your talking about opening the back plate of the laptop, to get to the wi-fi card then once you remove the main plate you should see two wires connecting to a small card in a slot, one is white in color the other is black. that is your wi-fi card of the laptop.
