My sons MSI 290x gaming has fried and I loaned him the 4850 from my system. It will be around a month before his new card arrives and I didn't want to be PC less for that time. I threw £120 at him and asked him to get me an upgrade for my 4850. He added some money and treated me to an Asus 290 Direct CU. This would be great if Vista would let me install the driver.

I don't want to shell out for Windows 7 or 8 as I'm running an old system, and only use Windows for games. I've tried AMD support but they don't seem interested in supporting Vista.

Has anybody a clue as to how I can get this working?

The error message is. Install package failure

MB Gigabyte quad 6
CPU Intel Quad 6600
4Gb ram

I do plan to upgrade the MB & CPU at some time, hence the reason upgrading Windows is not an option.
