I have currently ASUS EAH6850. I was thinking to upgrade my graphic card, most probably with a R9-270. My current PSU is 600watt. I wonder if i can run these two different model at the same time via crossfire. Because they both support crossfire. I have M5A97, Phenom II X6 1055t 3.2ghz OC'ed. However, i wonder;

-Is my psu enough for such a thing ?
-What will happen when one card supports dx 11.2-Mantle and other one does not support ?
-Even though i can't run these cards at the same time with current psu, is there a possibility do damage one or two of the cards when i try to boot up system with crossfire ?

It's not a big necessity for me to do crossfire, but if it's okay, why not ?

No, i meant what i wrote exactly.
You can do what you asked. You will need another 6000 series card the same, however a 7870 can pair with a 270, just as a 7970 can with a 280 and you will need a new 750w psu for the latter cfx option.

Hope that is clearer.

I didn't get it. I think you mean i can do crossfire with any 6000 series with any 6000 series, but for example i can't do crossfire with a 5000 series card with 6000 series card right ? I thought just Nvidia cards need just two same models
