Right, so I have 3 boot options upon starting my pc, the first is an unactivated version of windows 7 ultimate n that I don't have a key for and don't want to use either. The second is called windows 7 and when selected asks me to insert an installation disc but when this is done it just returns back to the same screen. The third is ubuntu and says pretty much the same as the second one. Please be aware that I am terrible with pc's and that I also did not put these thing's on my hard drive and am just trying to sort out an issue with a pc that has plagued me for a while now. All help will be greatly appreciated also :)

Edit: The motherboard is an Asus p8h77-i, forgot to mention that originally

So what is it you're asking? If you just want to format the drive, boot the windows disc and do a fresh install (You say you have the disc - do you have the key for that one? If not, we can't help you.) Make sure to back up any files first.

Yep. One partition isn't activated and it sounds like you have corrupted/incomplete installs on the other two. (Although, technically, you could just go with the Ubuntu one, repair the installation and be on your way if you're comfortable with Linux, because that doesn't require a key.)

I had a thought, wouldn't it just be easier for me to go to my computer, right click the hard drive select format and do it that way? Only thing I'm not too sure on is how to reinstall windows 7 after doing that
