I never heard of a modern motherboard that DIDN'T have a PCI slot....

You say Z78 but I never heard of a Intel motherboard with a Z78 chipset, only the Z87.

Do you mean Z77 (Sandy/Ivy Bridge) or Z87 (Haswell)? There isn't a Z78. Also, do you want to run Crossfire/SLI on it?
EDIT: There's a pile without them, but they're generally either very budget (e.g. the GA-H61M-S), or very high end (e.g. Sabertooth Z87).

Most motherboards have at least 1 PCI slot.
But are you asking about PCI or PCI-Expressx16, which is used for a videocard?
What device do you need to connect to the motherboard that uses PCI?
