I am trying to connect an AT&T Microcell and read on many threads that I have to turn NAT off for it to work. I can not find anywhere in the settings the term NAT. how do I turn it off ?

More about : n900 turn nat completely

You shouldn't have to the microcell is using ipsec over natt so it has no issues passing though a nat connection. It is designed to run on a standard home network where you have no other choice but to run nat.

The only way to disable nat is to turn your router into a bridge which means only the microcell device will be able to use the one IP most ISP provide.

Thanks for your reply. me and AT&T tech support have been trying for 3 days now with no avail...it connects to GPS and I can see it on the router list of attached devices, but it would not go through to AT&T and they cannot see it on their end. I read in some other forums that double NAT'ing is an the reason.

Multiple nat routers may cause a issue.

You can't really turn off NAT in a consumer router. Your only option is to in effect remove the second router. You would have to use the second router as AP but if you needed firewall features or other option you will lose all that.

You might make it work by defining the second router to be in the DMZ of the first. You might also get it to work by port mapping ports from the first router to the second.

Running 2 routers is never a good idea but I know there are many cases where the ISP provided router is garbage and you have no option to remove or bridge it.

If the motolla modem is actually a router then that likely is your issue. Since that device is designed to be a small cell tower its location is likely not as critical as other network stuff. I would plug it directly into the modem.....assuming it really is a router.

If you really only have a modem then you have another problem. It should have no issues passing through a single router.

I have the motorolla Modem that the cable connects to, and that is connected to MyNet N900 router. the microcell is connected to the router by wire

It should then work without issue. Try going into the DMZ screen on your router and put in the IP of the microcell box.
