Hello all,
I live in India and want to buy a new computer, for some casual gaming, watching movies and some word processing and basic photo editing and such... I want advice on building it. I am a newcomer to this. I searched a while here and there but always get confused in GPU + Power supplies debacle...
Here is what I think I want
Approximate Purchase Date: Within 2 months

Budget Range: Rs 25000 - 30000.

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Mostly browsing, Casual gaming, watching movies
(Should just be able to run latest games wihtout lag, even though on lowest settings possible :p)

Parts Not Required: Monitor, Hard Disk
I just upgraded my monitor and also have a quite new 1 TB hard disk

Country: India

Parts Preferences: CPU : Intel i3 or i5
GPU : NVidia Geforce 650, 750 or their TI editions
Motherboard : Any decent one
RAM : 4GB DDR3
PSU : Whatever suits the above
Case : Preferably Micro ATX, but ATX will do just fine

Website Preferences: http://flipkart.com, http://snapdeal.com, http://primeabgb.com or any other indian website

Overclocking: No

SLI or Crossfire: No

Comments: As I am a complete noob in this, I do not know much about cpus but I found that AMD + radeon rigs are cheaper with comparative performance with Intel + nvidia rigs, but heard issues about heating and such things in AMD. So going for intel.

You have a tight budget, and some expectations. So, I'm omitting OS and other software out of the build. I'm also taking the liberty of increasing your budget by a few thousands so you get a complete build.

Prices are indicative only

12,000 Intel i5 4570 Haswell CPU
05,500 B85 Asrock B85M/Gigabyte B85M-D3H mATX Mother board
02,500 Corsair ValueSelect 1666 MHz 4 GB DDR3 RAM
02,000 Zebronics mATX slim cabinet with SMPS
03,000 DVD Drive/Keyboard/Mouse/Webcam/Headset/speakers
12,000 NVidia GTX 650 TI Boost 2 GB GPU
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
37,000 Well rounded work/play station build for 2014

Notes:
1. I could have suggested an i3 instead of an i5, that would have saved you 5k, but that would have forced me to downgrade your GPU as well
2. You do not have budget for fancy peripherals, so pick the cheap ones such as cabinet, mouse, etc., you can get the good ones later
3. you would need an SMPS with the output rating of at least 550 W for the above selection; you could choose an AMD 7770 GPU and your power need would go down by 100 w
