alrighty so, i just build my first PC earlier this month.

i didn't look at the build details when picking parts, just the functionality. now that it's all built.. i think the back of a VGA board aren't that interesting to look at, and i want a backplate.

now onto my specific situation. the price of VGA where i live is quite inflated.
i bought my MSI R9 270X for $290. if i sell it right now i might get $235-$240 optimistic estimation.

the price of a MSI 760 Hawk or 760 mini itx is the same at $335. that's a $100 extra i have to shell out.

financially and weighting on performance difference between the two, is it worth a $100 extra or should i wait for 800 series instead?
ps: there will never be any price drop here other than dollar rate going up / down, just fyi :D

2) i read from 1 review site that idle - load of msi 760 mini itx is 26 db - 31 db.
while msi 760 hawk is 26 db - 30 db

how loud is 1 db difference in real life?

cheerss

Hi,
The GTX 760 is only on average 7-8% more powerful than the R9 270X. So $100 more for that performance boost is not very smart.
Btw you have to be an alien to hear the difference of 1db in real life

Your GPU is good enough for a few years. Hell, I still have a 7950 and I play EVERYTHING on full details. Only game that can make it lag so far is SC2 when we've got hundreds/thousands of units on the screen (custom maps), but I'm not even sure it's the GPU's fault, cuz SC2 can only use 2 CPU cores :(.
