I've been planning on upgrading my computer for awhile. With the release of the new 750, it seems all my prayers have been answered. It's faster, smaller, generates less heat and draws less power than my current 9500 GT. I told my dad about it, a grizzled I.T. pro, and he was concerned that the parts wouldn't be compatible. He said back when he worked on computers, if it was over 3 years old, it couldn't be upgraded, due to bus rates and clock speeds and such. I have a Dell Optiplex 330, with the 9500 GT, Intel Pentium E2180, and as far as I know everything else is stock. By all the stats, I should be able to swap out the GPU's. My dad just wanted to make sure they were compatible before I dropped $120 that I couldn't use.

Solution
you meet the power supply requirements in your computer but what my concern is "will it fit?" i don't know what the inside of a dell optiplex 330 looks like. you would have to put into consideration the size of the heatsink/fan of the card. if there are any parts on either side of the pci express slot then you would have to do some measurements and compare it to the dimensions of the specific card you want to buy
