Hey, I am building my first gaming PC soon and I have the specs, I'm buying the parts from Overclockers UK and I need to drop the price to about £1800
Currently it's £1895, so first off are these specs good enough for gaming on high settings and can you guys recommend me any specs that are as good but cheaper perhaps? Note that I wanna keep the motherboard, graphics, processor, case and monitor the same, I don't mind if I change the other specs, so here they are :
Graphics : EVGA GeForce GTX 780Ti Superclock 3072MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card
Monitor : Asus VG248QE 24" Widescreen 144Hz 1ms Gaming LED Monitor - Black
Processor : Intel Core i7-4770K 3.50GHz (Haswell) Socket LGA1150 Processor - Retail
Motherboard : Asus Z87 MAXIMUS VI HERO Intel Z87 (Socket 1150) DDR3 ATX Motherboard
Case : Corsair Carbide 540 High Airflow ATX Cube Case - Black
Power Supply : Seasonic G series 750w '80 Plus Gold' Modular Power Supply
RAM : Corsair Vengeance Pro Red 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-17100C11 2133MHz Dual Channel Memory Kit
SSD : Samsung 120GB SSD 840 EVO SATA 6Gb/s Basic
OS : Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64-Bit - OEM
HDD : Seagate Barracuda 2TB 7200RPM SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache - OEM HDD
CPU Cooler : Deepcool Lucifer CPU-Cooler - 140mm
Wi-Fi Adapter : Asus PCE-N15 300Mbps 802.11B/G/N Wireless PCI-E Network Adapter
DVD : Samsung SH-224DB/BEBE 24x DVD±RW SATA ReWriter (Black) - OEM
So again if you guys could try and change the specs other than the monitor, graphics, case, motherboard and processor to drop the price to about £1800 I'd appreciate it, and I am buying the parts from Overclockers UK so if you recommend something, please check that website to see if they sell it and if it's cheaper than what I currently have, thanks! :)

Get an i5 and a much cheaper motherboard. An i5 is all you need for gaming. An i7 adds little to no performance for ALOT more money.

Forgot to mention I will be doing recording, editing and rendering, so that's the reason for the i7 :p

You can still get a MUCH cheaper motherboard. This will not affect performance in any way.

If it was my build I would go with a cheaper motherboard and drop the CPU cooler as this could be bought later. I would however go for an 850w PSU so I could go Sli later.

Okay, I have added an Asus Z87 Pro, it comes with built in Wi-Fi so I could take off the Wi-Fi card too, saving an extra £25, now I am at £1855, anything else I can really drop? Thanks :)

I'd definitely be going SLI, but with this GTX 780Ti I won't need to for ages I'm guessing.
If I were to go SLI, which would be in a long time, I'd upgrade the PSU aswell at the time.

This is a good call. In 3ish years when you want to SLI, it will be a WAY better idea to get a new PSU vs. using a 3 year old unit. Even quality PSUs deteriorate over time.

Yeah, but anyway, anything I can drop the price on now to drop it to £1800?

Could easily get a cheaper but still quality case.

There is probably cheaper RAM. a 1600mhz 8gb kit can usually be had for $60-$70.

I just built my new computer for 1k cdn dollars.

I kept my ssd and hdds from my old system with win 8.1 pro.

so with that in mind.. I got an i5 4670k/ 8 gig g.skill 1866 ram/ cool master evo cpu cooler/ msi z87 45 gamer motherboard / generic dvd writer/ phantom 410 case / hx corsair gold 650 W PSU (wanted seasonic but store did not have)

and a club r9 270x amd video card (came with 2 games valued at 20$ each on steam) ..good until march 21st) again compromised on card because they had no sapphire. It is also value better than gtx 760 with the thought that I will be getting the much more energy efficient Maxwell card when those ship later this year or early next.

anyways the point is ..I can game on ultra on all my games now ...and those go up to say Bf3. so for 1800 pounds.. you could get a mega gaming system with sli or xfire.. but I would say that is overkill :)  (oops I see you are also including a monitor .. but still!)
