Black Borders on Left/Right of Display Area

While reaching for my wireless keyboard, I hit a button (don't know which) and the display on my monitor shrank horizonally, leaving black borders to the left and right of the display area running from top to bottom of the monitor. I am using a laptop connected to a projector monitor. Upon shifting to the "dual mode" for the laptop and projector monitors, the same issue is present in both. I have tried changing the screen resolution, so far without effect. I am listing the hardware below:
Keyboard: HP wireless K2500 (2014 model)

Monitor: LG Flatron W1934S
(being used as a projector with the laptop, listed below)

Computer: Toshiba Satellite L775.

I know that the system can work without the borders, as it had done so for about a week. It's just that I don't know which button I hit, and now don't know how to reverse what that button did.

I can't see any adjustment buttons on the LG monitor itself, so this must be a computer setting. I just don't know which one.

Any help appreciated.

I accessed the LG Flatron user manual online. Couldn't find anything regarding the F10 button.

But after a couple of related searches, I came upon information about a button on the monitor itself called "4:3 in wide"

I clicked it and it restored the display to full-screen mode. I barely noticed that the Flatron had buttons, and had no idea I'd touched any of them.

Thanks very much for your reply, as it led to the solution.
