What happen when CPU Temperature Exceed Max Temp ?

Hello all,

I have AMD (X64)Athlon II X2 270 3.40 Ghz..Max Temp = 74 degree Celsius.

I want to know What happen if CPU Exceed Max temp ? Also want to know how to set alarm as well as Auto Shut down at 70 C? Also want to know that will be Immediate turn off like power cut or Stably Turn off like a Shut Down?

if processor reach its max temperature so it will turn off immediately . . not shutdown . more of like power off ...

Does any harm to processor? Can I start PC after few mins or Shall I let the CPU cool by giving some time just say like 1-2 hours ?

yes you can turn it on after few min and it will more harm you motherboard socket . . use a CPU cooler for that

I do check my CPU Temperature via HWMonitor.Will you recommend me this Software or Will you pick some other to check CPU Temperature?

i also use HWmonitor .. software are generally not precise but do give good readings

Do you Enabled the Alarm or System turn off before Some Quoted Temperature ?

nope . . i haven't really reached that much high temps . . using liquid cooling . .
