Which Card to Get Coming From a GTX 690 (780 Ti or R9 290X)

Like the title says, I am looking to replace my GTX 690 either with a GTX 780 Ti or a Radeon R9 290X. Please note that I do not care in the slightest about Mantle or G-Sync. The price difference between the two cards is $50 (The 780 Ti is $699.99 and the R9 290X $649.99) so I doubt there is a real price/performance ratio difference. So I guess it boils down to raw performance.

The primary use will be gaming. A secondary use might be Folding, although I haven't done that in quite some time. Thoughts?

dont blame you, the 780ti is the fastest single gpu in the world right now. if you can wait until the 800 series comes out at the end of the year they might have some better performance but they probably wont release a 880 ti right away anyway. but the performance of the 880 might be equal to a 780 ti anyway so if you cant wait i would go with the ti. if you can wait for the 880 series then maybe you will see better performance but most likely a 880 will be equal to a 780 ti
